“Leading the Future”
A Summer Camp for Peace
An extraordinary invitation to Leadership for Teenagers and Young People
An invitation
We believe that our world is in need of bold, courageous, and creative leaders who prioritise a larger sense of humanity over ego and take into account environmental, social and ethical considerations when leading. Who better to offer the chance to develop this version of leadership than young people, our future global leaders?
Countless research shows that participation and engagement in the arts, theatre in particular, is the very best way forward. With its proven ability to develop empathy, increase problem solving skills, and participants’ ability to take risks, it is the ideal way to develop bold, courageous, creative leaders.
Summer Camp for Peace
Led by guest artists Laurie Rubin and Jenny Taira, campers will create and present an original performance rooted in themes of bridge-building across diverse populations that infuses pressing issues of social justice with hope. Campers will meet other young people from across the globe and develop life-long friendships
Laurie and Jenny centre young people in their work as they are our future leaders who have the power to effect social change. They instill in young people the importance of our diverse history, acceptance across varying life experiences, and the need for equitable representation and treatment of all people. This is the pathway to building a more peaceful world.

RESPOND to the needs of the group knowing their own needs will also be met.
ENGAGE in a process that enhances critical and creative thinking.
AWAKEN and share the unique artistic qualities inherent in each of us.
TRANSFORM challenges into opportunities with joy and hope.
EMPOWER themselves and each other knowing what they do impacts the world.
When the show ends, what begins?
Our summer camp programme is designed to not only give teenagers and young people an extraordinary experience, but to invite them into leadership for a better world in their communities and the world at large.
We ask each camper to commit to a longer-term project where they contribute to making an impact when they go home and we follow up and support them in this journey.

*The Brevet d'Aptitude aux Fonctions d'Animateur (BAFA) or, childcare aptitude certificate, is a qualification that is required by the French government. Under Youth and Sports regulation in France, a certain percentage of childcare workers in a summer camp must have this certificate.
What People Are Saying
I was quiet before, I didn’t talk much and I didn’t reach out to people. When I was home alone, I felt isolated. I didn’t communicate alot with my parents….we never talked deeply— [but] when we acted, the feeling was fantastic. We can be anyone that is different to ourselves and that is so great. We are closer than before, both friends and parents. The [facilitators] helped us both with the play, and with our lives
